Addiction Studies Program

Employment in the addiction studies field is steadily growing. Social service, health, and corrections agencies require staff members to obtain training and certification in this field. WVC’s two-year associate degree meets the needs of those already working with alcoholism and drug abuse clients, those aspiring to be certified chemical dependency counselors and those enrolled in a health-occupation program.

Medical Assistant

Medical assistants support doctors in many ways, including patient care and help with administration of the medical office. WVC offers a four-quarter certificate of completion.

Medical Laboratory Technology

Medical laboratory technicians perform a variety of scientific laboratory procedures that aid in the detection, diagnosis, and treatment of disease. In addition to employment in medical laboratories, graduates pursue positions in research, veterinary laboratories, and medical and equipment sales. WVC's five-quarter associate of technical sciences degree is available in a variety of locations in eastern Washington.

Nursing Assistant

The nursing assistant program provides the basics in care-giving skills for entry-level employment in health care. Upon completion of this one-quarter certificate, students are eligible to take the certification examination for nursing assistants.

Nursing

The registered nurse is a vital leader on the health care delivery team. Completion of the first three-quarters of the associate degree program entitles students to take the licensure examination for practical nursing (LPN) with the completion of a Professional Vocational Relations (PVR) course.  Completion of the final three-quarters entitles students to take the licensure examination for registered nursing (RN).

Pharmacy Technician

Prepare to work in both community and hospital pharmacy settings with WVC's Pharmacy Technician program. Learn about drug products, calculations, dosages, dispensing techniques, inventory management, aseptic techniques and Washington pharmacy law. Study and develop different skills, work attitudes and ethics, as well as develop proper work habits and appreciation for the job. This program includes classroom instruction, laboratory practice and clinical pharmacy training.

Radiologic Technology

Develop the skills, knowledge, competence, and commitment to caring to become a radiologic technologist. WVC's Radiologic Technology associate degree program starts in the spring and includes hands-on experience and clinical education.
